Weekly Audience: St. Paul's Encounter with the Risen Lord

Continuing his catechesis on St. Paul, Pope Benedict XVI in today's General Audience spoke about St. Paul's experience on the Damascus Road, often called his "conversion."  St. Paul did not describe it as a psychological process or maturation, but rather as an experience from the outside, an encounter with Christ that transformed him.  Similarly, he said, Christianity is for us too an encounter with Jesus that transforms us.  We encounter Him in reading Scripture, in prayer, and in the liturgical life of the Church.
